lots of lovely » fashion. lifestyle. home.

As mentioned previously, I was one of the first to get married in my friend group and this is the year of weddings for everyone else. All of my girlfriends seemed to like the same time of year to get married (early/mid summer) and because of that, all of their events are all falling around the same time….bachelorette parties/showers/etc. So it should come as no surprise to anyone that I co hosted another shower one week after the first one was at my house. Well, I decided to stick to the old Southern motto of “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” in regards to my planning for this second shower. Chalkboard signs? Check. Nothing Bundt Cake? Check. Fresh flowers? Check. This one was at a different home and included a Sunday brunch theme in terms of food and drink (can you say homemade Bloody Mary’s, anyone?) so it was a laid back feel with some of my favorite classic touches. Enjoy!

Can you believe it’s almost April?! Let me tell you…I can’t. I feel like we were just wrapping up the holidays and we’re already a quarter into the next year! Wowza. Well, with the spring season comes lots of events (if you’ve been following along, you’ve already seen one of the showers I hosted recently) and with those events comes my newest love of arranging fresh flowers to just make the house look that much prettier. Whereas last year was all about filling the house up with décor so that it didn’t look quite so empty, this year is about making the house feel like a home with those special touches that make you come in and stay awhile. I hope you like what I came up with for the dining room…to me it looks oh so Easter ready. Be kind and enjoy, friends.

I experienced a first this past weekend…hosting a bridal shower in my home! I was one of the first to get married in my group of friends so now its time for all of my girls to have their special days (can you say bridesmaid in four weddings this year?!). They are mostly summer weddings so now is the time for the showers/bachelorette parties/luncheons/you get the picture. I’m sure you could guess this but I am an absolute lover of all things wedding. I love the makeup and hair (of course), the flowers, the dresses, the venue and the events leading up to the special day…#hopelessromantic, I know. This was the first time for me to host a bridal shower and I couldn’t be more happy with how it turned out. Hope you enjoy taking a little journey through our day of celebrating my best friend!

  • Courtney - I’m good friends and work with your sweet sister, Amber, and she told me that I could get some great wedding, decorating, hair, make-up tips from you! My wedding is coming up on 8/8/15…so I can use all the help that I can get! lol

Have you seen the new Cinderella movie? At the end, she is marring the prince and I want my hair to look something like that on my wedding day. Please let me know if you have any suggestions to help me achieve that look!

    Thanks a million!
