lots of lovely » fashion. lifestyle. home.

Hi! Hello. Bonjour!

I don’t even know where to begin because it has been a HOT minute since I have graced the pages of my little lovely blog here and the answer as to why that has happened is summed up in one tiny word that packs a big punch: life. My life lately has been all over the map but I am truly so happy to have a few weeks at home, uninterrupted, hubby and I, with 16847 Christmas decorations strung around the house. ‘Tis the season, right?

Well, to kick my little holiday home tour off, I have to start in one of my most favorite nooks of our house. The dining room has a little spice in its life ever since this Lindsay Letters canvas found its home and I have to say, I love how festive and fun it turned out! Lindsay is one of my all time favorite IG accounts to follow. I love her talent, creative drive, and huge heart that just jumps through the screen with each post. If you haven’t had a chance to check out her Christmas line, its a must. Because lets be real, one can never have too many printed inspirational words around the house, you know what I’m saying? She’s been sweet enough to offer a discount code for my followers so type in LotsOfLovely10 when you are ready to check out and make sure you order by the 15th in order to guarantee shipping for Christmas gifts. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, y’all.

I thought I’d share something a little different on the blog tonight (in addition to this cute transitional fall outfit, romper + booties from Anjouils!) so here are the answers to the five most asked questions I get from the blog:

  1. What lip color are you wearing? This is asked SO often any time I post a close up photo! I have an absolute weakness for lip products in general (my husband thinks I have truly bought out the entire contents of Sephora’s lipsticks) but my favorites in my most worn categories are these: blush/nude/light pink – Kylie Cosmetics in Koko K, Buxom Cosmetics in Undressed, Urban Decay Cosmetics liner in Naked; brown toned shades – Kylie Cosmetics in Dolce K liner and Candy K lip kit; Gerard Cosmetics in 1995; berry/plum – MAC cosmetics in Rebel
  2. What are the color of your walls in your house? Utterly Beige by Sherwin Williams. It’s a crossover between beige and grey…also known as greige and I love it!
  3. Where is the best place to buy flowers? If you are local to Houston, Tx (or Texas in general) I LOVE buying flowers at Central Market and Trader Joes.
  4. Do you do calligraphy? I dabble in calligraphy merely as a hobby. I’ve taken a few classes so what I used to call “doodling” is now more commonly known as calligraphy. I don’t take clients as it is just something I do when I have time but I do know a few fabulous calligraphers if you ever need a recommendation!
  5. What size are you? I’ve been asked this question a few times and to be completely honest, my first thought was to be self conscious (aren’t we sadly programmed to do so?) by the mere question BUT the more that I’ve sat on it, I’ve realized that truly I take it as a compliment. I love the fact that people notice and are commenting in a positive way that I am an average sized woman, as opposed to the stick thin model that we often see in advertisements or even in the blogger world. Not that there is anything wrong with a thin body type, there isn’t. ..I just, am not. I am no size 2. I wear size 8/10 in most clothing and have a very curvy figure. I hope that if you have a similar body type or shape that you find inspiration in how I dress!

Always feel free to send questions my way, I am a true girl’s girl and love helping in any way that I can. I don’t have my blog so that I can make extra income or just grow my own empire, I do it because I love anything and everything girly, I love sharing and its SO fun when I hear feedback from you!

Hope you enjoyed, xoxo

  • Briana - I’m loving this romper! So fun and chic. And thanks for answering the questions, so brave of you to share such a personal thing!ReplyCancel

Trend alert: tone on tone is an absolutely must for fall this season! I love mixing up different textures and shapes of the same tone and pairing them together. This high neck tank + button down skirt (both from Francesca’s) make for the perfect fall transitional outfit. Word on the street is that tomorrow marks the first day of the fall season but let. me. just. tell. you. Houston, Tx won’t be seeing the likes of “fall” temperatures for another month or two so for now we just pretend with open toe booties (these Qupid ones are my go to these days) and a PSL from Starbucks in hand. Throw on some neutral accessories, like this side satchel from Macy’s Backstage (a big thank you for gifting me this fabulous purse, along with several other items that I can’t wait to share with you!), add a statement necklace and you are good to go!
