One of our glorious sunshine filled days in California was spent shopping the day away in the LA hotspot The Grove. We had a fabulous day and I couldn’t help but share a few lovely shots of our time there. My look for the day encompasses what I tend to lean towards while traveling so I thought I’d share a couple of tips for travel outfits. I will list below where I purchased all of my clothing. Enjoy!

Tip #1 Note the small side satchel purse. I’m all for big bags on the day-to-day but when it comes to traveling, especially a shopping-filled travel day, light purses that are able to go cross-body or hang off your shoulder are the way to go.

Tip #2 Wear shoes you’re going to be comfortable in. I am one of those people who is more comfortable in a shoe with some kind of an arch versus something completely flat. These Steve Madden wedges are one of the most comfortable wedges even though they have a pretty good height to them.

Tip #3 Add pops of color with your jewelry, instead of your clothing. When I travel, I tend to pack neutrals so I can mix and match items as I so choose. I love a pop of color almost always and I find that jewelry, like these fabulous turquoise Kendra Scott earrings, can add just the right touch.

Side note: how cute is she? She just captured the day for me. Her black and white shirt read “CARPE DIEM” as she snacked in the food court (famer’s market style) without a care in the world.

I thought it would be neat to give you a taste of what is inspiring me right now. No matter where I turn…Pinterest, Joss & Main, HomeGoods aisle, etc…these are what have been calling my name for a while and seem to be defining the space all around me. Hope you enjoy!

Wicker/wood – I like the look of something natural, something earthy. Honestly, something to balance out every other girly-looking piece that I am just naturally drawn to. Think Restoration Hardware.

White/bright – If I could envision the perfect house, it would the lightest, brightest place ever. Tons of soft colors, white furniture and clean scents. Think Pottery Barn in the springtime.

Printed/typed – Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved quotes. Inspiration in word-form is incredible to me and I love love love (three times love, that’s big stuff) the trend of typography being found more in houses.

Sequined/sparkles – Now, I’ve never been one to bling out my entire shoe, purse, T-shirt, you name it…but there is something to be said about a little shimmer, a little sparkle, a little glistening to brighten up a space. Think Kate Spade. I always think Kate does such a good job with her sparkle.

I have several shopping indulgences and post college life, paper products has definitely become one of them. I don’t know what it is about charming cards, gift wrapping, bags, bows, etc, but I just can’t seem to get away from them. I stepped into probably the cutest paper goods shop ever last week called Urbanic in Venice, California and I am so excited to share with you all that I purchased! A coworker of mine had given me some goodies from the paper boutique for my birthday back in January and I had been dreaming of the day I could try out this paper product haven ever since. Enjoy!
