lots of lovely » fashion. lifestyle. home.

Hi! So, clearly I took a little hiatus over the past month or so and I’m thinking since I did the exact same thing last year about this time, we’ll just chalk it up to tradition. December just gets you, you know?! It’s like, one second you’re dreaming of the holidays while pretending its cooler than 85 degrees outside with your pumpkin spice latte and a flannel shirt and the next SECOND you are ringing in the new year. Like, where do 31 entire days go?! Out the window for me. Between a busy work schedule, a few birthdays, and family get togethers for the Christmas season, I can’t stop and smell the roses even if I tried. SO, for future reference: in the month of December, I’m still alive and well {and posting it up on Instagram}, I’m just not blogging, kapish?…Kapish.

Now that it is now longer December and I have put away all of my cozy Christmas décor, lets start the new year fresh, shall we? I’m feeling inspired by black and white, monochromatic looks right now. Of course I’ve always loved my black and white stripes but its more than that, I only want to wear those colors and I only want to decorate with those colors (if they are even considered colors?).

I happen to be celebrating my 25th birthday today and was gifted some beautiful paper goods (how I love paper products so much I do not even know) as well as a few gift cards to Anthropologie that I cannot wait to use to spruce up my bathroom. Renovating our master bath is on the TOP of my to do list this year and I’m so excited to get on it and share our progress with you. But until then, I’ll share some eye candy of my favorite goodies right now. Birthday + Christmas treated me well my friends.

Stay kind, friends.

The latest project in our lovely household has been tackling the great outdoors. For the first year and a half of living in our home, my husband and I only spent time in the backyard when absolute necessary…mostly to take the dog out. We both love outdoor space but the backyard fell to somewhat of the bottom end of our to do list when it came to the house. That is until now. With the inspiration from my in laws spiffing up their backyard with a beautiful pergola and outdoor kitchen + dining addition, I felt like every time I went over there, I was adding to the list of what I then wanted done to our backyard. While we still have a ways to go, we have made some headway and I had to show you this charming little nook I added a Christmas touch to. Hope you enjoy!

In addition to the loads of photos that I took myself and shared with you a few days ago from our recent Paris rendezvous, I absolutely couldn’t help myself from sharing the fabulous photos that my husband and I had done by Stacy Reeves of Lamour de Paris. She is a fellow Texan and Aggie (WHOOP!) who moved to Paris after she got married. I had a few friends use her for photos while in Paris and she was definitely on my radar from then on {ehh hemm meaning I somewhat “stalked” her on instagram}. Every time she posted a swoon worthy photo of a couple dancing near the beautiful Seine River or frolicking with the majestic Eiffel Tower in the background, I just knew I had to book her to document our trip. Needless to say…my husband and I are in love with the photos. After receiving them last week, I asked him what he thought and his two words were…”Worth. It.” – a reaction I couldn’t have summed up better myself. Take a peek and enjoy some shamelessly PDA filled photos of our first morning in Paris.
